About the Role
Role Purpose:
The Head of West Africa will be responsible for providing leadership to the team in West Africa. This role will establish and maintain business with financial and retail partners on behalf of EFT Corporation Limited but with a mandate to maintain customer relationships and introduce new clients in West Africa’s operations, EFT Corporation Limited.
Business Development Strategy:
- Identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities in the Banking, Payments, Mobile Network Operators, FMCG (POS) and Telecommunications sectors that would be lucrative business opportunities for EFT Corporation Limited.
- Position the EFT Corporation as a thought leader in payments within West Africa through:
- Develop deep knowledge of market dynamics, including competitor strategies and customer preferences.
- Embrace emerging technologies such as blockchain, AI, or biometrics to enhance payment security and efficiency.
- Participate in industry conferences, webinars, and speaking engagements to share expertise and network with industry leaders.
- Provide thought leadership within the organization by fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation among employees.
- Showcase case studies and success stories that demonstrate how your solutions have positively impacted customers and industry standards.
- Proactively engage with media outlets and industry publications to share company achievements, insights, and thought leadership perspectives.
- Establish metrics to track the effectiveness of thought leadership initiatives, such as media mentions, speaking engagements, and industry awards.
- Identify new customer segments and territories for expansion. By way of the following:
- Strategic analysis of market.
- Identification of market niches.
- Expansion of products and services.
- Exploring new geographic area’s to widen customer base and exposure.
- Allocation of resources and budget to such ventures.
- Development of detailed action plans.
- Monitoring and evaluation of performance metrics of products and services.
- Identification of any risks and how to mitigate them.
- Communication with stakeholders.
- Develop and implement growth strategies for the organization.
- Provide solutions to business challenges like profit declines or competitive threats
Relationship Management:
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with current and potential business partners.
- Cultivate and maintain customer relationships to ensure high satisfaction and support lifecycle needs.
Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations and enhance internal processes to improve productivity.
- Monitor project timelines to ensure efficient task completion.
- Directly manage functional team leads within the region.
- Develop, implement, and manage budgetary and resource allocation plans to optimize expenses.
Revenue Target Achievement:
- Oversee and manage the regional and/or country-specific revenue targets, ensuring that top-line revenue goals are met or exceeded.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and maximize revenue.
- Compile and present detailed performance reports for the Executive Committee (EXCO) regarding regional activities.
Sales Support & Product Promotion:
- Comprehend customer needs, craft solutions, and effectively communicate the technical aspects of the payment solutions to potential clients.
- Initiate the gathering and analysis of customer feedback to enhance product offerings.
- Actively collaborate with the sales team to provide pre-sales support by analysing customer requirements and preparing solution design documentations where appropriate.
- Actively collaborating with marketing team to create collateral, case studies and other materials.
- Actively maintain client records and contact list.
- Take accountability for maintaining the security of all information assets.
- Comprehend and adhere to all company policies, processes and procedures.
Sales and Marketing Management:
- Develop, implement, and manage the delivery of short-term and long-term sales and marketing objectives for EFT Corporation Limited in the West African region.
- Monitor market trends, conduct analysis, and gather marketing intelligence to support decision-making.
- Lead participation in the proposal process, including budgeting, pricing, SRA development, and client presentations.
Technical Solutions:
- Suggest product improvements and upsell upgrades and new features to our customers.
- Provide technical team with updated supplier technical details.
Leading High-Performance Teams:
- Lead a diverse team to achieve revenue targets and increase market share within a client.
- Ensure milestone management, KPI’s and alignment in line with company strategy.
- Drive transformation Goals.
- Performance Management.
- Quality Job descriptions and KPIs in place for all. roles aligned with business strategy.
- Performance contracts and performance reviews conducted on time in line with company processes.
Team Cohesion:
- Working together as a high-performance leadership team to drive sustainable business practices to achieve the short and long-term business strategy.
- Providing solution guidance and mentoring to the solutions team, customer success teams and other teams in EFT Corporation.
Time-Sheet Management:
- Time tracking in Jira (Tempo) completed weekly, accurate project code allocation with a min average of 8 hours per workday.
Business Risk Management:
- Compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Complete all periodic mandatory policy and security training in accordance with EFT Corporation’s guidelines.
- Risk mindset applied and business risks actively raised to direct manager.
Way of Work:
- Use of proper punctuation, UK English grammar and spelling.
- Ensure all documents, correspondence etc. are formatted correctly, are neat and accurate.
- All activities are completed with due care and align with accuracy and quality standards.
- Obtain necessary approvals for legal activities aligned with process.
- Identify and / or confirm relevant timeframes / deadlines applicable to the task at hand.
Requirements
What you need to succeed:
- FLUENCY IN FRENCH IS A MUST.
- Bachelors of Science degree or Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and/or finance degree or equivalent depending on experience.
- Master of Sciences Degree or Master of Arts in business administration is advantageous.
- 7-10 years of experience in the financial services, technology, or fintech sectors.
- Experience in roles such as product management, operations, strategy, or business development is beneficial.
- Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft (MS) 365; knowledge of CRM software (e.g. Hubspot, Jira, Salesforce) is beneficial.
- Competency in MS 365 applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Structured Query Language (SQL) certification, an added advantage.
- Excellent knowledge & experience of ACI’s Postilion EFT Transaction. Switch suite, specifically Real-Time Framework (ver 4.x & 5.x) & Post Office (ver 4.x & 5.x), Postcard, Portal, TermApp, Postilion Active-Active.
- Experience & knowledge of payment card technologies (EMV, magnetic stripe & contactless) & card types (debit, credit, pre-paid & gift cards).
- Knowledge of Hardware Security Modules.
- Knowledge in Postilion Upgrades, Migration, Monitoring and Maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of ATM , POS and Mobile terminals transactions flow.
- Advance knowledge of PCI DSS , PA DSS & understanding of ISO8583 protocol.
- Knowledge in 3rd party interfaces i.e. VISA MasterCard, UPI , Bankserve, etc.
- Proven track record of outstanding performance in a previous complex enterprise.
- Proven success in a managerial role.
